DIY: Summer Shirt
Whenever I think of tube tops, I remember the adorable mango yellow number I got for myself when I was a kid. I know, I had style back then. I loved wearing that thing, only because it was so cool to wear in the summertime.

Midnight Eats: Chez Karine
So I was invited to try out the new desserts in one of my favorite dessert places, Chez Karine. This is the truth and nothing but the truth. My sweet tooth has ruled me for the last few years and here I best try to describe how it makes me feel. As posted for When in Manila.
A sweet tooth can be a deadly thing. Left unsatisfied, one becomes grumpy and irritable until they get their sweet, sugary fix. I know I wasn’t at my best when I walked into Chez Karine that afternoon, but once my sweet tooth took over, it was all about the sunny skies.
If you haven’t heard of Chez Karine yet, then clearly you have left your sweet tooth unattended for far too long. The mecca of macarons has been dominating the dessert scene with their army of sweet treats and drinks and it looks like they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.

Literati: Yellow
For the first time in my life, I've started writing original stories. This one was supposed to be a part of a longer story, but I have neither the expertise nor the heart to continue. As posted on Readwave.
Yellow
Michael woke up to the sounds of singing. Loud, joyous singing that rang in his head and rattled him out of the hard hospital bed. His room’s fluorescent white paint blinded him and he lifted his arm to shield his eyes with the white gauzy material of his bandages.
That was then that he realized that he wasn’t dead. Shit.

DIY: Circle Skirt
So I was in Cotton On and Forever 21 recently, and I noticed that short, voluminous skirts were making their way into the local fashion scene. It seems fitting, given that we're all suffering from a never ending heat stroke here, that the girls are wearing bouncy, breezy skirts when they actually leave the house.
Given that I always think that these store prices are insanely expensive, I set about making my own. Isn't that always the way? This skirt was incredibly easy to make, and I made mine just in time for Holy Week with the family. This is actually much faster when you know your way around a sewing machine.

Inspiration: Festival Fever
I don't know if it's the summer or the fact that there's finally going to be a "legit" music festival here, but I've discovered and fallen in love with festival fashion. The fringe! The tie dye! The floral headbands! Nothing screams boho like long and messy hair and sunglasses. It seems to be the appropriate look these days given the 30-degree heat we've been stewing in these last few days.
While some of the DIY bloggers are all teaching us how to fringe up a wool sweater and add florals to flip flops, I figured it would be pretty nice to take a look at the fashion out there now. I'm not sure if I'll be able to actually attend Wanderland 2013 (more on that on the bottom), but it's a bit exciting to mull over the possibilities of how the fashion will turn out.

Hong Kong Kicks
The first time I rode a plane, my family and I woke up at 4am. I argued with my mom because she wanted me to wear a frilly angel dress when I wanted to wear a floral chambray dress with the matching hat (90s fashion for the win). Our destination? Hong Kong.
Now it's been more than ten years and many other trips later, and we finally got to take my younger siblings there, just them this time. I'm really happy we did that.
Most of my photos are Hong Kong Disney related, but I got a daytrip at the end for you. :)
